I will teach young artists how to identify shapes and lines in the Super Mario Bros character: Goomba! Learners will create a drawing by following along, as I guide the process step-by-step. We will transform Goomba into a Frankenstein Zombie monster as a Halloween twist! Students can use a black marker, or they can choose to use a pencil to start with. After drawing the figure, we will color them in, and students can use any coloring utensil they prefer! Crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint, pastels, the sky is the limit! While this is an art-based course, we look forward to not only creating, but also meeting some others who share a love for Super Mario Bros.

Hello, I'm Ms. Jes! 

In my classes, kids unleash their inner artist using favorite characters and games that I’m just as passionate about as they are. We explore spontaneous creativity and embracing “mistakes”. Let’s start drawing outside the box!

I am most passionate about teaching art and learning in unique ways. My approach to teaching infuses encouragement and optimism while having fun and connecting with a new generation over shared interests. Every child is special and celebrated for being who they are! No matter the class, I believe in positively approaching learning and finding joy in it. 

• Outside of Outschool, I founded a nonprofit youth performing arts academy in 2015. 

• I live in the beautiful Midwest of the USA with my husband and two children.
