Experiencia de clase

This class is for beginner gymnasts who can do a forward roll and cartwheel. 

Each class will consist of six 7-minute rotations, with a few minutes at the beginning and end for chit-chat. Rotations will start with a basic skill, then each week I will teach students a different progression from that skill.
1. Warm up (alternate between calisthenics, yoga, and dance) 
2. Rolling (straddle rolls, backward rolls, forward roll step out, hat roll, etc.)
3. Cartwheels (chasse cartwheel, power hurdle cartwheel, one-arm cartwheels, cartwheels in combination, round-off drills, etc.)
4. Handstands (vertical handstand, split handstand, wall handstand, 90 degree handstand, beginning straddle press handstand, etc.)
5. Bridges (bridge walk, bridge rock, back bend, kickover, etc.)
6. Cool down (yoga and/ or stretching)

Rotations will include gymnastics skills, drills, strength and conditioning, and shaping exercises to promote proper gymnastics technique. Some weeks will include a balance beam component. A practice balance beam is welcome, but not required. On an individual basis, students who have mastered a skill may be taught progressions toward a more difficult skill.

Orientación para padres
As with any physical fitness routine, gymnastics carries the possibility of injury. Students should be have a wide open space for tumbling, dress comfortably for movement, have a bottle of water nearby to drink, and be supervised in their homes in case of a fall.
