In this ongoing, small guided reading group, the students will work on beginning reading skills.  The students will develop a strong reading foundation.  Each lesson will begin with a focus on rhyming activities.  Some of the activities will include erase a rhyming word, and/or a rhyming song with picture cards. The students will then participate in word work ("If you know -og, you can spell hog.") which will also include letters (phonics) and letter sound (phonemic awareness) activities. The students will work with letter blends to extend the word work.  In each lesson the students will then focus on one to three vocabulary words with activities such as invisible words, rainbow words, or fancy words.  The class will end with the students reading a leveled book.  Each class will be adjusted to meet the needs of the learners.  Feel free to send me a message about your learner.
