This class will focus on teaching students the fundamentals of guitar in a group setting! Prior to joining this class, all students will go through a placement course to determine their skill level. I would love to hear what kind of music or which artists your learner enjoys listening to! :) This class teaches the basics of guitar. After every class, we will pick up where we left off in the next one! The goal is continued growth and a really fun time for each student! I hope to share in my love of music and instruments with your learners. :) I focus on teaching with joy, encouragement and excitement in each class. I hope to create an environment that is welcoming and accommodating. We will always work at the students' pace. We will work on the following topics initially: -how to tune a guitar -the parts of a guitar -the names of the strings -numbering the fingers -the purpose of a metronome Then we will build into: -chords and chord shapes -how to read charts -rhythms -strumming patterns -picking patterns -learning songs I also offer a Taylor Swift class where we learn new Taylor Swift songs every week on guitar! Students can graduate into taking this course upon determining their enhanced skills. If you have any specific questions about this class, please message me through the Outschool messages.
