In this one time class, students will learn about the greatest empires that ever lived in South America. This class will start with a weekly current event. (Current event will be appropriate for this age group.) Students will have the opportunity to engage in discussion and critical thinking skills with their classmates. I will encourage all learners to participate in class discussion and classwork. It is my goal to reach all learners and to ensure they are obtaining the information. I will teach using PowerPoint to meet all learners students. Student will receive printables the morning OF the class. This class is centered around the history of South America(Aztec, Maya, and Incas). We will also discussion the inquisition and the ways it affected South America. Students will also learn about each great empire and their contribution to their society. Source/Book: The Latin American Cultural Studies Reader by Ana Del Sarto(you DO NOT have to purchase). This is the book I will be referencing.

All materials is appropriated for learners. Students will learn how one empire's cruel ending was another's wealthy beginning, this will be a teachable moment for student. I will NOT discussion religion with learners. However, racism and discrimination against the Indigenous will be discussed in class, as a teachable moment. We will discuss race as far as distinguishing the groups and the location of those involved in the invasion of South America.
