What will be taught: Students learn how explanatory writing gives directions or explains how to do something. The students will learn how to complete a task. Present step by step instructions. Give clear details that are easy to follow. Uses time order or space order words to make instructions clear. Students will also read two different passages and think of the writing of how they are alike or different. Students will learn the purpose and their audience. Students learn about choosing a topic and brainstorm ideas. Students learn to list their ideas. Students learn to organize and sequence their ideas. Students put into practice their explanatory writing. How will the lesson be taught: Google slides, student engagement, discussion, doc cam. Good for students who need extra help in explanatory writing or need more practice. Some knowledge of writing paragraphs and complete sentences.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students learn to think about their writing purpose, learn to start with a good topic, write in step by step instructions, learn to use time order words or space order words. Students learn to proofread their work, start with capital letters in their sentences, learn to spell words correctly and use verbs in their writing. In this class students learn to find the words and apply what they learned and write about it, plan the best way to organize their ideas.

Parental guidance in case of technical difficulties or logging on. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
