Experiencia de clase

Welcome to the Workout Club!

Class will begin with some social time. The girls and I can chat about some of our favorite ways to stay active, goal setting, and nutrition-- or just life! Whether we had a week full of setbacks or victories, this is a safe place to find encouragement and motivation!

Having a workout partner or group makes working out fun and we are more likely to stick to our routine! It's important to note that fitness isn't about how you look, it's about how you feel! Being healthy looks and feels different for every girl! We are here to support one another!

I will then guide them through the warm-up and stretching. Safety first! We will start with some upbeat music to get our muscles warmed up, blood flowing, and heart rate up. Next, I will model and perform a variety of exercises for both our upper and lower body. The exercises and workouts will be fresh and fun each class! All exercises can be modified to ensure each girl is feeling successful and strong! Finally, class will finish with a core exercise and cool down stretch.

Yes my goal is to get a great sweat session in with your daughter, but I'm not trying to build the strongest kid on the block- I'm trying to BUILD UP our girls into confident and strong women who have a desire to live active and healthy and find a type of movement/exercise that they enjoy! Learners will have the opportunity to help me count out our exercise repetitions and socialize during the workout session (hey let's build friendships too!) You can expect your child to receive lots of encouragement and praise throughout our workout. I never put anyone on the spot and always correct form in a positive way across the whole group (no calling out names in here unless it's a shout out for excellent work!) They will leave feeling excited about fitness, and with a new workout routine they can practice at home!

Between the ages of 8 and 14, girls' confidence levels can fall by 30%. Of course, puberty can be a stormy time for confidence in both genders. But research shows that girls experience a much more significant, dramatic drop. The good news is confidence can also be encouraged, nurtured, even created during these turbulent years. We are honored to provide a safe space where each girl can feel comfortable, try something new, and always be encouraged. Friendship and fitness are found in all of our "Girls” classes, but equally important, confidence is built. We want every girl to leave the Ready Set Fitness Studio feeling empowered, strong, and valued.

Our goal at Ready Set Fitness Kids is to pour our love and enthusiasm for physical activity into your child so much that they develop their own intrinsic motivation to get active each day! Can't wait to meet your kiddo!

Metas de aprendizaje

Girls will learn various stretches and exercises throughout class. I will teach them proper form by modeling both the correct and incorrect ways to perform each exercise. The goal of this class is to help promote a love for physical exercise and health! I seek to do this by providing a comfortable and inviting environment for the girls while we also build camaraderie with one another.

Improvement in the areas of strength, balance, and agility.

They will also be working towards achieving the daily physical activity recommendations of both the CDC and American Heart Association. According to the CDC, it is recommended that children and adolescents ages (6-17 years) should do 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity each day, including daily aerobic – and activities that strengthen bones (like running or jumping) – 3 days each week, and that build muscles (like climbing or doing push-ups) – 3 days each week."

According to the American Heart Association:

Active kids are more likely to have:
-a healthy weight
-stronger, healthier bones and muscles
-better heart and brain health
-improved brain function, including memory, attention and problem-solving
-better school attendance and academic performance, especially in math, reading and writing
-lower long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some kinds of cancer
-less stress and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression
-less inappropriate and distracting classroom behavior
-improved mental health and psychological well-being, including confidence and self-esteem
