In this ongoing class, students will review 1st grade skills that they will need for 2nd grade math as well as learn foundations of 2nd grade math. Week of July 2nd- We will warm up with addition fluency. We will work on place value, digits, even and odd numbers, and finding the value of digits. Week of July 9th- We will warm up with subtraction fluency. We will work on finding the missing addend. Week of July 16th- We will warm up with skip counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's. We will work on even and odd numbers, plus one, minus one, plus 10 and minus 10. Week of July 23rd- We will warm up with addition fluency. We will work on adding 2 digit numbers without regrouping. If the students have this skill mastered we will move on to adding with regrouping. Week of July 30th- We will warm up with subtraction fluency. We will work on subtracting 2 digit numbers without borrowing. If the students have this skill mastered we will move on to subtraction with borrowing. New lessons will be added on for the month of August.
