Students will learn essential components of resumes to capture employers' attention, as well as key elements and formatting for effective cover letters. The class covers resume writing, job interview skills, job search strategies, and the skills needed to land a job. We will also go over resume templates and a sample resume, with a discussion and questions at the end. We will also explore cover letters and why they are important. 15 minutes: Drafting a sample resume based on student feedback and experience. 10 minutes: Job search strategies, including how to find job listings and apply. 10 minutes: Discussing the skills needed to land a job and how to develop them. 20 minutes: Job interview skills, including common questions and effective responses. 10 minutes: Wrap-up, last questions, and option to post resumes for feedback in the classroom.
