It is best to purchase or borrow this book and view it before class. If that's not possible, and overview videos of Washington's spies and the American Revolution would be good preparation.Evaluación

This led to the formation of the Culper Ring on Long Island to spy on the British and transmit the intelligence to Washington. How did this ring function? Who was involved? How did they survive the danger and deceit? How did they encrypt their messages and communicate to one another? These are the questions we will consider and hope to answer.

There is no homework, and no preparation is required to take this class. It is recommended for the student to read a book about this topic before, after or during the class to enhance their knowledge of the subject. Students tend to have more fun if they know some of the answers to my questions during the class meeting. I will recommend three titles about George Washington and his spies, but I used Thomas B. Allen's book, George Washington: Spymaster, as a course outline.
