I engage students in discussion but students may participate as much or as little as they like. I encourage students to ask questions if they feel comfortable doing so and assess informally based on our discussions.Experiencia de clase

Why do some rocks float? Where did the Grand Canyon come from? What causes volcanoes to erupt? Why do certain places have so many earthquakes? How do fossils form and where can they be found? Find the answers to these questions and many, many more in "Geology Rocks!" In this interesting science course, students will learn all about the processes that form, reshape, and change rocks and the Earth itself. Students will analyze the different types of rocks, the forces that change them from one type of rock to another, and the major differences between igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. In addition, students will learn facts about Earth's interior, volcanoes, and earthquakes. Be prepared for a funny rock joke or two! Week 1: Earth's Interior, Plate Tectonics, and Continental Drift Week 2: Earthquakes and Volcanoes Week 3: Three Types of Rocks and the Rock Cycle Week 4: Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition; Fossils Students only need an inquisitive mind and a basic understanding of science. I encourage students to ask questions and discuss the material but students may participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. While additional resources such as books may be suggested for students interested in learning more, no required homework will be assigned. I always provide students access to my presentation materials for review. At the end of each lesson, we will review concepts and discuss the upcoming lesson. Please let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to seeing you in class! -Mr. Lee If you enjoyed this course, come back to see me in Solar System 101, Oceanography 101, Meet the Explorers, Meet the Explorers: Journeys in Space, Art in Science: Through Galileo's Telescope, the Math of Fantasy Football, and more!
