When learning new skills, it is all about Practice, Practice, Practice! After completing "Learn to Type I and II" or the Semester Course of "Learn to Type" the learner will gain practice to demonstrate their typing skills through game play. Lesson 1 will cover the keys on the home row, top row, and bottom row of the keyboard. To access the game a link will be provided to the learners in Post #1. Lesson 2 will cover capital letters, numbers, punctuation and symbols on the keyboard. Again, to access the game a link will be provided to the learners in Post #2. Within the games, the learner will see the word and will type it out. Words may appear more than once but within the games there are over 400 words they will be exposed to. In game one the words are ones that are most often typed. In game two, various words and phrases are used to incorporate the capital letters, numbers, punctuation and symbols. In this self-paced class, you proceed through the class at your own pace and at a time that is convenient for you. If at any time you have any questions you can message me. Hi Everyone. Welcome to Outschool. My name is Karen and I’m excited to be able to bring my love of teaching online.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Fairmont State University in West Virginia. For 10 years I educated students in Family and Consumer Sciences. I love teaching FACS courses because they help students to develop the essential life skills and knowledge to lead their best lives. It also offers students education to career pathways in:

Human Services
Interior design
Foods and Nutrition
Child and Family Development
In addition to Family and Consumer Science I am certified to teach Safety and Drivers Education, PreK – 5th grade and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). A love of mine is traveling, but not just traveling, having lived in 10 different states, I have immersed myself into the culture of the areas and discovered how each state has a uniqueness all their own. I hope to also share my passion for travel and what makes each state one of a kind.
My teaching style is what I call “structured fun”. When teaching my students about how to educate Preschool children we discuss about how they learn through play. I don’t believe that should just apply to Pre-Schoolers. My classes include a lot of interaction through discussions, games, projects, and fun quizzes.
