This class is perfect for kids who love animals to strengthen their wildlife knowledge and connection to the natural world. Each week, we explore a new group of wildlife. Our weekly topics change between various groups mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates. Using incredible photos, GIFs, and occasional Youtube videos, we learn about their taxonomy, diet, habitat, range, unique adaptations, behaviors, and a plethora of fun facts. We discuss similarities and differences between members of the taxonomic group and explore conservation threats. Each class is guided with a Google Slide presentation and includes opportunities for learners to share their knowledge, ask questions, and interact with other learners. My goal for Future Zoologist Club is to strengthen your learner's connection to wildlife and nature by exploring unique and fascinating information about animals. 2025: Week of May 5: Elephants Week of April 28: Crocodiles Week of April 21: Crabs & Hermit Crabs Week of April 14: Cetaceans Week of April 7: Prickly Animals Week of March 31: Axolotls Week of March 24: Bears Week of March 17: Vultures Week of March 10: Ratites (Ostrich & relatives) Week of March 3: Red Pandas Week of February 24: Penguins (NO THURSDAY OR FRIDAY CLASSES) Week of February 17: Felines Week of February 10: Finding Love in the Animal Kingdom (Valentine's Celebration) Week of February 3: Bees Week of January 27: Eagles Week of January 20: Sea snakes NO FRIDAY CLASSES Week of January 13: Nudibranchs Week of January 6: Marsupials 2024: Week of December 30: Parrots (No Tuesday or Wednesday classes) Week of December 23: Squirrels (No Tuesday or Wednesday classes) Week of December 16: Seahorse Family Week of December 9: World's Largest Snakes Week of December 2: Equine Week of November 25: Snow Leopards Week of November 18: Rodents Week of November 11: Wolves Week of November 4: Turtles & Tortoises Week of October 28: Bats Week of October 21: Puffins Week of October 14: Tigers Week of October 7: Octopuses Week of September 30: Green Sea Turtle Week of September 23: Monotremes Week of September 16: Komodo Dragons Week of September 9: Beach Birds Week of September 2: NO CLASSES Week of August 26: Walruses Week of August 19: Otters Week of August 12: Stingrays Week of August 5: Bugs That Sing Week of July 29: Giraffes Week of July 22: NO CLASSES Week of July 15: Orangutans Week of July 8: Koalas Week of July 1: Animals of the Galapagos Islands Week of June 24: Polar Bears Week of June 17: Invasive Species Week of June 10: Woodpeckers Week of June 3: Animals that Glide Week of May 27: Jaguars Week of May 20: Corals Week of May 13: Snails & Slugs Week of May 6: Sloths Week of April 29: Pelicans Week of April 22: Mutualistic Partnerships Week of April 15: Rattlesnakes Week of April 8: Hornbills Week of April 1: Rhinoceroses Week of March 27: Birds of Paradise Week of March 20: Garden Bugs Week of March 13: Toucans Week of March 4: Geckos Week of February 26: Salamanders Week of February 19: Echinoderms (sea stars, urchins, etc.) Week of February 12: NO CLASSES Week of February 5: Earthworms Week of January 29: Scorpionfish Week of January 22: Requiem Sharks Week of January 15: Super-Sized Animals Week of January 8: Filter Feeders Week of January 1: Chameleons 2023 Week of December 25: Winter Animals Week of December 18: Antelopes Week of December 11: Deer Family Week of December 4: Owls Week of November 27: Scorpions Week of November 20: Small Sharks (Part 2) Week of November 13: Small Sharks (Part 1) Week of November 6: Great Apes Week of October 30: Lemurs Week of October 23: Hummingbirds Week of October 16: Iguanas Week of October 9: Albatrosses Week of October 2: Cobras & Mambas Week of September 25: Hippos Week of September 18: Jellyfish Week of September 11: Frogs Week of September 4: Crocodiles Week of August 28: Elephants Week of August 21: Eels Week of August 14: Flamingos Week of August 7: Bivalve Mollusks (Scallops, Clams, Mussels) Week of July 31: Crabs & Hermit Crabs Week of July 24: Red panda Week of July 17: Ratites (Ostriches, Emus, Etc.) Hi there!
My name is Sarah and I am so excited to explore wildlife, science, and conservation with your learner. I was born and raised in the Metroparks of Ohio, but I currently call the Sonoran Desert of Arizona my home.
I have had a strong love for wildlife and nature for my whole life and have built my career around it. In 2017, I graduated cum laude from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology. I am a Certified Environmental Educator in Arizona and a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation.
After college, I worked on several wildlife studies in the field studying species like the western diamondback rattlesnake, spectacled rattlesnakes, and Bahamian rock iguanas. I gained experience as an informal educator developing programs for schools and homeschool students at the Phoenix Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, South Mountain Environmental Education Center, and SeaLife Aquarium.
At the start of COVID, I founded an organization that creates wildlife and conservation STEM resources for K-8 students, including a science curriculum program that teaches core science subjects with an engaging animal twist.
My greatest objective as an educator is to make science FUN. My classes cover important science topics while using wildlife and nature as our driving forces.

I offer a series of one-time, multi-day, and ongoing classes. Please feel free to request one-time classes if you do not see a session posted.
One-time classes and multi-day classes always include a live animal. Please check class descriptions for ongoing classes.

~~For ongoing classes: Please request a refund by messaging me at least 48 hours before the session begins. Refunds will not be offered if class is sold out as I cannot fill the spot of your learner.
~~One-on-one classes: Please reach out to reschedule at least one week in advance.
