This is a semester class that can be taken as a Before or After School Spanish program or to complement a homeschool curriculum. This club is perfect for students that have been taking other Spanish classes for beginners but they still need to keep enriching their vocabulary and not forget everything that was learned during the Summer / Fall / Winter. Students should know the basics like: counting 1-10, colors, some animals, some action verbs.

We will meet for 8 weeks and during each session, we will review 4-5 new words through lectures, mini-stories, pictures, gestures, cues, games, etc. All students will be able to participate and follow the Spanish mini-stories and other activities by using a workbook that I will provide. You just have to print it out. 

The Fun Spanish Semester Enrichment Club for Advanced Beginners PART 1 will cover 2 Units that include:

  -  Nouns

Week 3 & 4
  - Mini-stories
  -  Verbs: to go, to come back, to write, to read
  - Class activities

Week 5 & 6
   - Extended family

Week 7
   - Feelings: está contento, está triste, está cansado. 
   -  Nouns 
  - Class activities
   - Mini-stories

Week 8
   - Food review
   - Class Activities 
   - Games
   - BINGO game

As an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces the new vocabulary.
