Class Experience
This On-going Singapore Math class follows the Singapore Ministry of Education Standard and topics to help learners gain confidence through mastering Math skills and solving challenging word problems. 
*No Textbook or workbook is required, worksheets will be provided digitally.*

This class is for:
– Learners who are in Grades 6 or are at Grade 6 level and would like to learn math using the Singapore Mathematics Methods.
– Learners who are using the Singapore Mathematics curriculum (from schools or homeschool) and are looking for enrichment classes.

Mentorhood also offers one-on-one class for learners who need extra support with their skills in this class or their school work.

Teaching Method:
Learners are provided with different visual ways of looking at math with the Singapore Bar Models approach. The learning journey begins with the concrete and pictorial stages, followed by the abstract stage to enable them to learn mathematics meaningfully. This approach encourages advanced (higher-order) thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas and problem solving. 
Contents are written by Math Educators and Play therapists who have been teaching Singapore Math over 15 years. 

Class Flow:
30 minutes lesson and practices
15 minutes homework discussion and correction

Each week (2 classes) will work on one particular topic with different focus.
Day 1 focus: concept and understanding
Day 2 focus: mental math and speed
