This interactive class will introduce learners to famous painters such as Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Picasso and Monet as well as some of their famous paintings and artwork such as Mona Lisa, Starry Night, The Last Supper, The Sistine Chapel Ceiling and The Water Lilies Series. Students will briefly learn some art terminology and styles such as impressionism and a bit of the background story behind each painting and painter. Learners will be encouraged to describe each painting in their own words, think of descriptive adjectives that match each painting and express how the painting makes them feel. The goal of this lesson is to introduce these pieces of artwork to learners so that next time they visit an art gallery or museum they will be able to recognise the piece and be knowledgeable about it. I will also include some interactive games such as 'I spy in the painting' or 'guess the painting' so that learners can interact with each other and have some fun hopefully!
