In this class we will be studying Frindle. We will discuss the assigned chapters by answering questions, making connections, analyze characters, and identifying story elements. Our first class will be a read aloud, demonstrate how take notes on a chapter, begin identifying story elements. Look at the syllabus to know which chapters need to be read before class. Students will have to purchase Frindle by Andrew Clements before the first class. Students will also have to fill out notes per chapter in order to be fully prepared to discuss what they read. There is a PDF they can print out and take notes or take notes a separate sheet of paper. Students should be reading on a 5th grade reading level, DRA of 40, or have a reading lexile of 830L.
