While the furry/fursuit community as a whole is welcoming to young fursuit cosplayers, many online spaces for furries are geared towards older teens and adults. In this ongoing club, students can meet in a safe and age-appropriate space to discuss their fursonas, share their feral and anthro furry artwork, and exchange tips and tricks on creating a fursuit or other furry-related cosplay! Therians can also find a happy home here. Whether your focus is on anthro/feral art, on costuming/cosplaying, or simply as living your life as a furry or therian, this club provides an opportunity to meet other students who share your creative interests. Class topics will be student-led, but will include: getting started as a furry cosplayer, creating a fursona, developing a signature furry/anthro art style, where to find resources for costuming, how to choose between making your own suit and purchasing a premade suit, doing quads safely, and fun art challenge like "draw it in your style." Social interaction is the cornerstone of this class, however, and the most important thing is to meet and enjoy the company of other young furs! Students are welcome to attend class in regular clothes or in whatever degree of fursuit cosplay or therians masks/gear they prefer. Some students may wear ears or masks and tails, others may have modified raptor masks, while some may have partial or full fursuits. All are welcome! No student should feel required to dress in cosplay or will be made to feel their cosplay is inferior to a complete fursuit. The focus is on fun and socializing, not competition. One of the best parts of the furry community is the way they support each other and bolster each other's confidence! Weekly meetings have student-directed content, but we will start each week with an introduction of the students and their fursonas, an opportunity for students to share new artwork or costuming they have created or commissioned since the previous meeting, and then will transition into student-led discussion and socializing. We will do "draw it in your own style" activities where students can swap pictures of their fursonas and draw their classmates' artwork in their own unique art style. We play furry and therian games. We will also occasionally touch upon the topic of cosplay and fandom safety – both online (on platforms like Discord) and in person (at meet-ups or conventions). Students in the 12-13 age range should choose which age group they are most comfortable with, the 8-12 group or the 13+ group.

Orientación para padres
While I assume that parents enrolling their students in this club are already aware of furry cosplay and culture, I would like to reiterate that furry cosplay is NOT inherently sexual or suggestive in nature. Many wholesome, age-appropriate resources for developing fursonas and creating costumes are available online. Children have always identified with animals (how many of us grew up in the 80s as horse girls?) and furry cosplay provides an opportunity to express that connection to specific animals—both real and fantasy—in a creative and fun way. This class exist specifically to provide a safe, youth-friendly, adult-moderated environment for young furry cosplayers and artists to connect with each other and make new friends. We will occasionally discuss issues of fandom safety, including effective ways to respond to online or in person bullying/harassment relating to the fandom.
Please note that I do not share recordings for social/non-academic classes.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Maestría desde Kennesaw State University
I am a long-term cosplayer and LARP (live action roleplay) costumer who has created costumes that include animal components such as ears, tails, and hooves, along with cosplays of characters from movies, television, and books for myself and my children. I regularly attend conventions and am familiar with furry cosplayers and culture. I am also the parent of a furry/therian child who loves drawing furry art and creating fursonas. They even drew the banner for this class! Some of my other social clubs (Warriors and LGBTQ+ fandom clubs) tend to attract students who are already furry cosplayers or who are interested in creating fursonas, so I wanted to offer a dedicated space for these learners to discuss their shared interest. The furry community skews heavily towards LGBTQ+; I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself and offer several classes for LGBTQ+ learners ages 8-18.
