In this class, we will guide you through the fascinating world of Personal Finance—an essential skill for navigating life beyond your parents' home. Personal Finance empowers you to achieve financial goals, whether it's buying a car, pursuing higher education, or planning for retirement (yes, even though it seems distant, early planning is crucial!). Your financial journey revolves around income, expenses, living requirements, and personal goals, and we'll help you create a plan to fulfill those needs. Our interactive course features lecture-style discussions, Q&A sessions, short videos, and quizzes to enhance your learning experience. The emphasis is on understanding the content and applying Personal Finance concepts to the real world. Ms. Gore, the founder of Cheers to Financial Freedom, loves swimming with her kids, is a Francophile dreaming of returning to Paris. Ms. Gore, the founder of Cheers to Financial Freedom, established the company in 2021 with a mission to impart essential personal finance skills, paving the way for financial freedom across diverse lifestyles. Having previously served as an Economics and Personal Finance teacher in public schools, she identified a significant gap in understanding personal finance fundamentals among both students and adults. This realization inspired Ms. Gore to make it her life's purpose to transform the discourse on personal finance and assist individuals of all ages in achieving financial freedom.
Adhering to the Commonwealth of Virginia VERSO standards for Economics & Personal Finance classes, Ms. Gore integrates real-world experiences into her lessons, illustrating the practical applications of each topic. She firmly believes that a solid grasp of basic fundamentals is the key to unlocking greatness in students.
Ms. Gore tailors her teachings to two distinct student groups. Ages 10-13 focus on the four fundamental concepts of Personal Finance (basic knowledge, banking, savings, and budgeting), while ages 14-18 cover the complete Virginia curriculum, encompassing topics such as income earning and reporting, credit, insurance, taxes, life and leisure, savings and investing, and budgeting.
Offering a variety of class types, including set weekly classes, ongoing "drop-in" classes, and flexible classes for independent study, Ms. Gore accommodates diverse schedules. For scheduling flexibility, individuals can reach out directly or utilize the auto-schedule feature on Outschool.
Ms. Gore holds a BS in Marketing from Arizona State University and a Master in Education from Regent University. She is currently licensed to teach in Arizona and Virginia public schools as a CTE Business and Information Technology teacher. Leveraging platforms such as Outschool and BurnAlong, as well as her private business, Ms. Gore passionately pursues her teaching endeavors.
