Fundamentos de finanzas personales para estudiantes de secundaria por Dave Ramsey

In this 6 week course, we will follow the curriculum for "Foundations in Personal Finance for Middle School Students" by Dave Ramsey.  This class will be taught in the Zoom classroom, using a number of methods including teacher-led lecture and discussions, as well as using videos from the "Foundations in Personal Finance for Middle School Students" to help enhance student understanding of the topics being taught by the teacher.  The teacher will utilize the Outschool Classroom for the posting of out of class discussion topics as well as the students will be assigned several tasks to complete that will need to be uploaded to the Outschool classroom at various points during the 6 weeks.

The 6 schedule will be as follows:

Week 1:  Saving & Budgeting- An introduction to personal finance, including a look at saving and the 3 reasons to save.  Additionally we will discuss budgeting, what it is and how to build a budget.
Week 2:  Credit & Debit- Identifying what credit and debit are, how a credit score affects personal finance and how to avoid debt.
Week 3:  Education, Careers, & Entrepreneurship- We will explore education and career options, including how education can effect earning potential. 
Week 4:  Investment, Insurance, & Identity Theft- Understanding of investing and rules of investing, insurance and options, and the impact of identity theft of your life.
Week 5:  Global Economics- Build an understanding of the movement of goods and services, as well as the concepts of supply and demand.
Week 6:  Marketing & Consumerism- Introduction to consumer spending and habits, and the role of marketing on consumer spending.
