This class will begin with our major scales. We will build major scales using the Circle of Fifths and key signatures. Individual students will have different goals based on experience. Once the students are comfortable with the major scales, we will proceed to minor scales. We will use our knowledge of key signatures and the relationships between major and minor scales to build our minor scales. We will improve our tone quality and range using warmups and exercises selected by the teacher to match the ability of the students. Students should expect to play the exercises in different octaves and possibly different keys. This will increase their range and versatility as a flutist.

I believe that a knowledge of scales and theory will make you a better musician. It allows you to be a better sight reader and to learn music faster. This class was designed according to methods taught in my flute masters classes in undergraduate and will include techniques taught to me by high school flute teacher and techniques I have developed in 20 years of flute instruction.
I would like each learned to have at least 1 year of experience on flute and have at least a 2 octave range. I will adjust the pacing of this class to meet the needs of the learners.Reseñas
