1. Acrylic Paint (2oz) - less than $1 each at any craft store, Walmart, or Amazon. I recommend 6-9 colors per class plus a base color: white or black (get the big bottle of the base color). I usually like to use at least 3 shades of my primary color and 2 or more shades of my secondary color plus an accent color or two. We will only use about 5-6 oz for each lesson. I will show you how to save left over paint for next project.

2. Glue (equal amount to your paint). Our ratio will be 50% paint 50% glue. Elmer's school glue or Glue-All works great!

3. 8 x 10 Stretched Canvas - 8 (one for each class). I do not recommend using the canvas board. I found a pack of 8 at Target for $10.

4. Plastic cup (5oz - 9oz) for mixing and pouring. You'll need one cup for each paint color - plus one more or two for each project.

5. Craft sticks - one for each color plus a few extras. I found a pack of 100 at the Dollar Tree.

6. Water - just a few ounces for each project to thin out the paint.

7. Plastic to cover work area - Table cloths at Dollar Tree work great! You can also use a garbage bag. You will also need to place painting on plastic to dry (at least 48 hours). Plastic will get very messy. If you are like me you will want to replace it after each pour. I can show you how to use the Dollar Tree table cloth for multiple projects.

8. Riser - to elevate canvas so it doesn't stick to the plastic and ruin. Ideas of what you can use: a bowl, 4 plastic cups, a basket, etc. Needs to be stable so it won't tip your canvas as you are working with it.

9. Additive (for lesson 3 and thereafter if you so choose) - to make cells. Can use dish detergent, liquid silicone or rubbing alcohol.

10. Twine or string for lesson 6. A couple yards should be enough (about 6 feet). I got mine in the baking section at the Dollar Tree.

11. Any funnel for lesson 7. I will encourage rinsing it out right away so it shouldn't be ruined.

Optional:

Disposable gloves - I recommend them if you don't like getting your hands dirty or paint under your fingernails.

Old clothes - It's really really messy.

Paper towels or old rag - It's really really messy.

A straw - I recommend it to help move some colors around.
This is a very messy project. Make sure your child's work area is large and is covered in plastic. Also be sure that little brothers and sisters and family pets will not have easy access to the mess. We will try to contain it as much as possible. It takes about 48 hours for each painting to dry. The learners will need a flat surface to keep their painting safe and out of the way so that it doesn't accidentally get ruined by siblings or pets.
