My students know I am diligent to create courses that are not offered elsewhere. I present to you the writing course that doesn't teach writing. Yes, you read that right! Students should understand basic English writing. Student should understand how to create a topic sentence, basic sentence structure, basic paragraph structure.

This course focuses on the American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited vet school application. This course focuses on being accepted into a vet school. Every learner in this class has several years before they are old enough for vet school. So, why am I teaching this course? Because learners who know the end game (how to get accepted into vet school) can better utilize their time and curate their skill sets in their remaining high school and then college years.

Students will be provided free, optional resources to make their writing stronger. Students should have access to a way of sharing their writing, Google Docs is suggested. If this isn't an option, please provide another option for your learner to upload work to the classroom. Please contact me with questions. If you need accommodations, please contact me and I will do my best to meet your learners' needs.

During this course, students will view an application, write their own personal essay, review the importance of veterinary experience at the high school and college level, and have an opportunity to try to answer real vet school interview questions. Feedback of essays will be gauged to individual writing ability levels as best as possible.

Each Monday, a video lesson will be provided to students along with worksheets to complete to assist the writing process.
I prefer typing and refer to it as writing. If your learner prefers to write pen and paper, please provide a way to upload that information for feedback.

No parent guidance for topics. However, students having a GOOGLE DOCS with permission to share documents with me (requires Google account) *OR* another way to submit writing is helpful for me to give feedback to learners. There is an opportunity for students to visit University Websites to conduct their own personal research on schools near them. Parents are welcome to supervise this research activity if needed.
