Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Megan has been a member of the Southern California homeschool community for over a decade. She found her passion in teaching through educating her own children individually and in the pod-style of learning. Her favorite part of homeschooling is watching students grow their education through the connections of what they are passionate about. Megan graduated from the University of Arizona with her Bachelor’s degree in English. While at ASU, she spent her time focusing on multimodal education, teaching writing to middle school - college age children, and loving literature (especially gothic literature!).
Megan has experience teaching and tutoring writing for all ages. She loves hosting book clubs for middle/high school students, watching current events, and making history interesting to learn. She’s pretty sure she can make anyone find history fascinating. Two of her own children have graduated and moved on to college, so she’s excited to share her guidance to other students thinking about what comes next after schooling.
When she’s not working with her own children and in small groups, she’s currently working on her Master’s degree in Educational Technology and Media Leadership so that she can keep bringing the best experts to every student, no matter where they live. She works as a tutor at CSULB with a specialization in TESOL and Athletics. She also has two huskies, Frankenstein (her favorite book!) and Mayhem.
