Experiencia de clase

Fish come in a startling array of unique shapes, colors and sizes. What causes these variations? How do these adaptations align with it's habitat and behaviors? What is Gyotaku fish printing? These questions will guide our learning during class.

Together, students will explore the external anatomy of common marine fish and the variations on their form and function. These concepts will be integrated with the exploration and demonstration of the art of Gyotaku fish printing, a Japanese art form created from fish specimens. Class will consist of whole group discussion, multi-media presentation and teacher demonstration. Students are encouraged to create a fish print but are NOT required to do so.
