In this 12-week self-paced (asynchronous) class, we will have a blast learning the most commonly taught math skills during the first grade school year!  We will use various objects, pictures, an online whiteboard, etc to help us learn these skills.  

Each lesson will include pre-recorded, engaging educational videos.  Watch and interact with the content at the time that is most convenient for you.  We all have our separate lives, and live in different time zones.  Our days become easier to manage when we can focus on our learning when it is best for us to.  

Each lesson will also include a fun learning activity.  The instructions will be posted with each assignment.  All learning activities are optional.


Class learning objectives:

Lesson 1: Review/learn how to identify/count numbers (0-25) using objects and pictures (Naruto (anime) theme).

Lesson 2: Review/learn how to identify/count numbers (26-50) using objects and pictures (unicorn theme).

Lesson 3: Review/learn how to solve basic addition problems by adding 1-digit numbers (0-9) together using pictures and objects (non-word problems) (Pokemon theme).

Lesson 4: Review/learn how to solve basic subtraction problems by subtracting 1-digit numbers (0-9) using objects (NBA theme) and pictures (Sonic the Hedgehog theme) (non-word problems).

Lesson 5: Learn how to solve 1-step addition word problems (including numbers 0-20) using objects and a teacher-created checklist (Super Mario theme).

Lesson 6: Learn how to solve 1-step addition word problems (including numbers 0-20) using pictures and a teacher-created checklist (emoji theme).

Lesson 7: Learn how to solve 1-step subtraction word problems (including numbers 0-20) using objects and a teacher-created checklist (puppies theme).

Lesson 8: Learn how to solve 1-step subtraction word problems (including numbers 0-20) using pictures and a teacher-created checklist (Roblox theme).

Lesson 9: Review/learn how to identify numbers 51-100 using objects and pictures (Fortnite theme).

Lesson 10: Learn how to identify 3D shapes (cube, sphere, cylinder, cone) (Spiderman theme).

Lesson 11: Learn how to compare 2 amounts of pictures and/or objects by knowing if they are Greater Than ( > ), Less Than ( < ), or Equals ( = ) (dragon theme).

Lesson 12: Learn how to measure items using various objects (paper clips, math blocks, etc) (Minecraft theme).


This class is loaded with fun!  It is important that we learn and master basic math skills in order to be able to move to more complex math skills.  I hope your engines are ready!
