Walrus, musk ox, puffin, snowy owl, and beluga! In this class we will explore the biology of Arctic animals through an interactive and fun experience. After a strong snowstorm Frosty the Snowman is unable to find his friends! Learners will help me and Frosty find his friends and blow off all the snow from on top of them. As we find all of Frosty's friends we will learn about their biology. Class will be interactive with plenty of opportunities for learners to provide input and ask questions. Learners will end class with a better understanding of the biology of a variety of animals, expanded scientific vocabulary, and fun facts to share. Winter hats or mittens optional, but encouraged!

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea and I've been teaching at the university level for over 10 years. I have a PhD in Biology, which allows me to share my passion for nature in the classroom. I've been fortunate to conduct research all over the world and experience amazing habitats, animals, and plants firsthand (Costa Rica, South Africa, Galapagos, and more!). My most recent adventure has been becoming a mom, and sharing my passion for biology with my kids. My science classes are interactive and fun (My kids wouldn't have it any other way!). I engage my students by connecting what they see in their daily lives (movies, TV, books, holidays, etc.) to the magnificent creatures that exist in our world.
