Nivel Beginner
In this class learner's will go over some basic concepts of singing, such as warming up the voice, matching pitches, vocal technique, the different vocal registers, resonance, and vocal expression! This class is set up like a private voice lesson. We will begin with breathing exercises, warm-ups, and funny sounding technical exercises, listening, and matching notes, reading music and solfège. Following that, I will go over an excerpt of a song. An example would be the verse and chorus of a popular song, such as "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest Showman movie. Learners will be muted while we go over the warmups, and the introduction of the song, but I will open up the "floor," for those who'd like to showcase themselves. At the end of class, students are given the opportunity to sing a portion of a song of their choice! Introductory Concepts Taught in this Class: *Breathing *Warming up *Matching Pitch *Technical Exercises *Vocal Registers *Confidence in Singing *Overall Finding the Learner's own Voice Note: This class can be taken as many times as the learner would like, being able to fit into the learner's schedule as needed. Different songs are introduced within each individual class. June Songs* Week 1: "A Million Dreams" from the Greatest Showman Week 2: "Part of Your World" from the The Little Mermaid Week 3: "If Only" from Descendants Week 4: Bring a Song of Your Choice! Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Florida Certificado de Docencia en Música/Teatro/Artes
I am an educator at heart! I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. I've played piano and have sung professionally in various settings: churches, jazz bands, and more. I have over 20 years in teaching music in schools and in my private studio. I've taught general music classes, music appreciation, music theory, choirs, group piano, private singing, and piano lessons. I've been a Fine Arts Director at a K-12 school for the last 5 years in Florida, as well as teaching in my studio online, and after school.
Why take my classes?
My classes are relaxed, engaging, and fun! Lessons include learning a variety of different styles of music. Classical, jazz, pop music are just some of the styles that I introduce.
Most classes will focus on:
• How to read music
• How to sing and play a variety of songs
• How to move and play different rhythmic patterns
• How to improvise
• How to perform for others
• How to play with skill and technique
I am a wife of a husband who's a musician, and a homeschool mom of three, with all of my children learning to play the piano, singing, and playing drums. They were born into it! I strongly believe in creating an environment that supports and promotes an overall love of learning. Fostering a space that invites students to create, play, and learn to love the gift of music is my goal. I recognize the infinite potential that each student has, and believe that learning music can open many doors in the world around us.
I hope to meet you soon!
