🍎 What’s Your Teaching Style?

My teaching style is all about making learning engaging, interactive, and fun. First and foremost, I focus on being enthusiastic and approachable. I know that young children are naturally curious and full of energy, so I bring a lot of excitement and energy to each lesson.

I use visual and interactive methods to keep the lessons interesting. Since children learn best through play and hands-on activities, I incorporate lots of visuals like colourful slides, charts and pictures. I also use interactive games and activities that allow learners to practice what they have learned in a fun and low pressure way. For example, we might use play money to make purchases or create simple budgets. Multimedia resources are also key components of my teaching style. I use short video clips to illustrate concepts; this not only helps to hold the attention of young learners but helps to clearly illustrate abstract ideas. These videos are always short and engaging and appropriately pitched to match their age range.

My teaching style also includes storytelling. I often use stories or relatable scenarios to introduce financial concepts as stories help to contextualise abstract ideas and make them easier to understand.

I understand that grasping financial concepts can be challenging for very young children, so I provide plenty of encouragement and positive reinforcement. I make sure to explain things in simple, clear terms that are age appropriate.

🧑‍💻 Interaction is at the heart of 'Financial Literacy: A Kids' Guide to Money Smarts'. Learners will have plenty of opportunities to engage with the teacher by submitting work via the Outschool classroom and receiving tailored feedback directly from the teacher.
