This class will cover the evolution of fashion through various historical periods, from ancient civilizations to modern times. Learners will explore how clothing has reflected cultural, social, and technological changes and how fashion styles have shaped societies over the centuries. The class will be divided into thematic lessons, each focusing on a specific time period or fashion movement. Each lesson will include visual presentations, discussions, and interactive activities like quizzes or mini-projects. Learners will get to dive deep into historical context and analyze how fashion evolved with society. I will use a mix of engaging visuals (slides, videos, and images of iconic clothing), storytelling, and real-world examples. Interactive activities like group discussions, quizzes, and creative projects will allow students to explore what they’ve learned. You’ll also have opportunities to ask questions and engage in debates. My teaching style is engaging, interactive, and student-centered. I focus on making history come alive through storytelling and visuals, connecting past events to modern trends. I encourage critical thinking and creativity, making sure learners are actively involved and excited about the subject.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
With over 12 years of experience as a costume designer for major commercial and film companies, I bring a deep understanding of how fashion is both an artistic expression and a reflection of historical periods. My expertise in costume design allows me to provide students with practical, hands-on knowledge of how clothing is crafted and the cultural significance behind various styles throughout history.
As an Art History professor with a focus on design, I have taught art history, fashion history, and design principles to a wide range of learners, including children, young adults, and college students. I’ve also had extensive experience teaching online platforms, offering both private and group courses. Since September 2022, I have been teaching Art History and Design at George Brown College, where I engage students in exploring the rich history of fashion, its societal context, and its evolution.
