Diseño de moda e ilustración de ropa: Colección de vestuario de películas de Barbie

In this ongoing class, students will sketch a new themed design every week. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Students can join or leave the series any week. Though prior attendance and knowledge of the subject is not required to attend, it is highly recommended that students take our Beginners Fashion Fundamentals to benefit most effectively from this class.

Students will illustrate designer sketches like the runway looks. We will start with the foundation layer, then add patterns, prints and embellishments. Students will focus on learning the basics of clothing detail drawing in terms of textile characteristics, how to illustrate florals and patterns, how to render textures like glitter, shine, leather, and matte finishes, how various types of fabric fold and move differently, and how to apply such knowledge to properly draw the clothed body.

Once they built a solid foundation and keep practicing, they will be able to create a multitude of unique styles of their own and use variations of croquis templates to design for different body types and sizes. Classes are highly interactive and students will have the opportunity to socialize and share their ideas in a fun and upbeat environment. It is a perfect fan-based social for students to meet other fashion hobbyists who would aspire to be future fashion designers, costume designers or fashion illustrators.

** Please note this class will not draw the croqui during class. A croqui template will be posted under the "Classroom" page for the students to trace out before class. We will focus on the styling and design, clothing illustration and idea sharing to promote self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking under an engaging learner-directed atmosphere.

Week Starting 12/9: 45th Anniversary Barbie: Black metallic brocade mermaid style gown, strapless corset top with white striped detail. Elaborate black and white embroidered swirl accent on the right arm swooping down to the left lower skirt. Unattached black metallic sleeves and dangling diamond earrings. 
Week Starting 12/16: Sparkling Pink Barbie: Bright pink studded cotton suit, consisting of a one-shoulder crop top, cropped long-sleeved jacket, and matching mini skirt. 
Week Starting 12/23: Delphine Barbie: Pale blue strapless taffeta gown with an asymmetrical back bow and draped train. Sculpted pleats on the train have pink flowers accents. White faux fur stole lined with pink satin.

Week starting 1/1 – High neckline gown made of layers of sheer tulle, gathered at the neck and cinched at the waist with a diamond-encrusted belt. Matching pumps and diamond cuff bracelets. 
Week starting 1/8 – Sequined mini dress, featuring a high neck and peplum waistline, long-sleeved and structured skirt. Chunky block heels, chandelier diamond earrings and mini studded clutch bag. 
Week starting 1/15 – Patent leather gown and moto-jacket dress, with silver accented studs, zippers and belt buckle. Matching floor-length stole, sunglasses and blow dryer-shaped purse. Silver heels and hoop earrings. 
Week starting 1/22 – Boatneck, long-sleeved cashmere sweater tucked into a sequin scaled skirt, featuring bowtie details on one side. Leather strap purse, diamond cuff bracelet, and earring studs, along with dark pink stiletto heels.

February
Week starting 2/5 – Three-piece suit consisting of a double–breasted blazer, a top with a deep-v neck, and straight-legged trousers, all covered in bold, floral appliqués with a Swarovski crystal stud in the middle. Platform heels, crystal necklace and drop earrings. 
Week starting 2/12 – Bubblegum pink satin mini dress with large bow detail for the bust, and structured tulle elements along the sleeves and waist. Paired with large star earrings, a circle necklace and sequined open-toe pumps.

Mandatory Video Check-In
Video check-in is mandatory for safety purposes per Outschool policy. Students are required to have their cameras on to allow the teacher to check in and verify each learner. After check-in, students have the option of either turning off their camera or leaving it on, whatever is their preference.

Refunds & Missed Classes
All of our classes are backed by Outschool’s standard policy. To receive a full refund, parents may withdraw or stop their subscription within 24 hours of payment OR 24 hours before class starts, whichever occurs earlier. No refunds are issued if a learner misses a live meeting. Recordings are made available in each classroom and can be watched at their convenience. Students are always welcome to reach out with any questions and share their work in the classroom.

Class Recording Access
Learners must JOIN A LIVE CLASS ONCE in order to lift Outschool's safety protocol and unlock access to video recordings of class meetings. Learners who have not attended a live class but need access to the recordings must contact verification@outschool.com to apply for a lifetime verification badge.

Late/ Missed Class
All classes will begin on time as long as one learner is in the classroom. In the event that no students are in the classroom at the assigned class time, the teacher will leave a message in the classroom and exit after ten minutes of waiting per Outschool policy.

Minimum Enrollment & Class Cancellation
A minimum of two learners is required for every class to run. In the event that we have to cancel a class, parents will be notified within 24 hours of class. Learners will have the option of either transferring to a more populated section of the same class or receiving a full refund, whichever is preferred.

Technical Difficulties
In the event of class delay/ cancellations due to unforeseeable technical issues, all families will be notified and a make-up section will be posted, or a refund will be issued if a make-up class cannot be scheduled.
