En esta clase semanal de arte para niños de 8 a 10 años, abordaremos diferentes temas cada semana. No es necesario asistir semanalmente para participar. Se trabajarán temas como dibujo, pintura, grabado y manualidades.

On going class so students may join at any time! No prior class or knowledge is necessary to drop-in. This class is all about learning to express yourself through art. We will have a Monthly Theme and each lesson will fit into that theme but they will vary. The lessons will not build, they will all be stand alone so no need to worry if a student adds late or needs to miss a week. The purpose of this class is for students to learn to express themselves through various art mediums based on their own understanding of the weeks theme. If your student likes to paint then they can paint based on the weeks theme. If they want to create art digitally for the week they are free to do so. This isn't about structure or rules it is about self expression, the joy of art and having fun creating something! Upcoming Lessons (Please know lesson topics are subject to change): April is Portrait Month Week of April 14, 2025: Self Portrait in your favorite medium ( colored pencils, marker, crayons, paint) Week of April 21, 2025: Portrait of your pet, or favorite animal in your favorite medium ( colored pencils, marker, crayons, paint) Week of April 28, 2025: Portrait of your family in your favorite medium ( colored pencils, marker, crayons, paint) May is Word Association Month Week of May 5, 2025: JOY- Create an art piece that expresses what the word JOY means to you. Week of May 12, 2025: HOPE- Create an art piece that expresses what the word HOPE means to you. Week of May 19, 2025: FUN- Create an art piece that expresses what the word FUN means to you. Week of May 26, 2025: LAUGHTER-Create an art piece that expresses what the word LAUGHTER means to you. June is Summer Fun Week of June 2, 2025: What does the word Summer make you feel? Week of June 9, 2025: What is your favorite Summer activity? Week of June 16, 2025: What color does Summer make you think of? Work in one color family only Week of June 23, 2025: Recreate your favorite Summer memory. What will students gain by joining Express Yourself Online Art for Young Creators Creative Expression: This class will provide a space for students to express their creativity through different mediums that they love or would like to try. Skill Development: Students can learn and improve their artistic skills under the guidance of the club instructor, focusing on how to express their ideas. Social Interaction: Drawing class can foster a sense of community among students who share a passion for art, providing a space to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other. I will be actively monitoring and talking with students throughout the class as we work together on class projects.

Students will need a variety of standard art supplies, noting is required. This class is about working in a students favorite medium and learning new ones. Here is a general list a materials that would be good to have: Drawing pencils, Drawing paper in various sizes, Erasers, Pencil Sharpener, Colored pencils, crayons, Markers, Fine line black marker like a fine line sharpie, Paints- watercolors, acrylic, tempra Paint brushes, Spray bottle if water coloring, Jar to hold water for painting, Scissors, Glue or glue sticks, Any other art materials they would like to use!
