Embark on a journey to discover what physical fitness is all about! This 6-week course is designed to show how fitness and exercise can make our bodies feel, understand the benefits of exercsie, and explore different types of movement. Through visual material, group games, and discussions, students will not only gain knowledge about health and exercise, but also develop life long habits to keep their bodies moving. Each week we will discuss a different area of health and try a new type of exercise, so everyone will find something that they enjoy. Join us to learn new ways to stay active and move our bodies!

Students will explore multiple different forms of exercise, learning which make them feel most excited and strong.
Students will have a deeper knowledge of physical fitness and the categories that make it up, including: environmental health, sleep/rest, healthy eating, emotional health, and social health.

Physical Fitness & Strength Exercise
This lesson is an introduction to the general idea of physical fitness and health. Students will learn about strength training and how it affects our bodies as well as participate in a hands-on game involving bodyweight strength exercises.

Lección 2:
Environmental Health & Balance/ Coordination Exercises
Week 2 is all about environmental health and how it affects us as humans. For our activity, we will do a hands-on balance exercises working on core strength and coordination.

Lección 3:
Healthy Eating & Cardio Exercises
This week we will discuss healthy eating and the five major food groups. Exploration of a fun cardio fitness / HIIT (high intensity interval training) activity will get our heart rates up!

Lección 4:
Emotional Wellbeing & Yoga
Today we dive into an introduction on emotional and mental health and how to stay positive during tough times, or hard decisions. Students will be able to participate in a hands-on yoga lesson learning about poses that calm the body.

This class has movement of the body so an open space that is safe for jumping jacks (etc.) is needed for safety.
