Beginning with story time, I will read "The Magic School Bus in the Haunted Museum: A Book About Sound" by Scholastic Productions. Then with a video clip from Dr. Binocs, we will examine the science of sound waves. We will discuss what a sound wave is and why is it important. The students will then create their own instrument for making sound waves using tongue depressors (or popsicle sticks), rubber bands, and cardstock paper. PDFs will be provided before class. Finally, I will provide some enrichment activities for after class to continue the study of sound waves with Generation Genius. This is a great introduction into sound waves, or a good review, for anyone who needs it.

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
