Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the Portuguese language of Portugal in a highly interactive setting.  

My teaching style is to combine visual aids and hands on activities to attend to the different learning abilities of all those in the class.
Not only will students learn basic vocabulary but there will also be an emphasis on Portuguese culture. ** Please note, a portion of our 1st class will be getting to know about your individual learners and their learning style. I model my lessons to try and accommodate every style in my classes.**

Items will build from week to week and we will begin each class answering questions in Portuguese from the week before. By the end of the course, learners will be speaking, reading and writing basic Portuguese and be able to share details about themselves in Portuguese.

Weeks 1& 2: The Alphabet. Students will pronounce and learn the Portuguese alphabet.
              Greetings -Hello! What’s your name?  -Good Bye- How are you?          
Week 3: Numbers & Colors - How old are you?  Lesson and Activity
Week 4: My Family Lesson  "To Be" Verb Intro - Vocabulary and Activities
Week 5:  Animals & Pets - All About Me Activity
Week 6: Months and Days of the Year - Lesson and Activity
Week 7: Seasons & Weather - Vocabulary and Activities
Week 8: My body and clothes - Vocabulary and Activities
Week 9: Review and Kahoot Game 

Please note that if the minimum is not met, the class may not take the entire listed time. 
This is an inclusive class in which students of all abilities are welcome. If a student is unable to communicate verbally they are welcome to use the chat. If your student has any other needs that require accommodations please let me know and we will work develop a way for your learner to participate in a way that they are able.

Learners do not require any previous language experience. Students will have the opportunity to work on worksheets during class and outside of class time for maximum retention.
 A letter grade can be provided, by request, at the end of the semester based on participation and completion of work.
