Welcome to Essential Elementary Grammar! In this class, students will learn basic language skills: sentence structure, mechanics, and parts of speech. This class is designed around 2nd grade common core literacy standards but is suitable for grades 1-3 or any older students needing a refresher on parts of speech and sentence mechanics. Each week, we will cover the topic listed. Students can drop in any week, as skills will be topics that can stand alone. Students will listen to the teacher...
- Students will be able to determine the parts of a sentence.
- Students will be able to identify nouns.
- Students will be able to identify pronouns.
- Students will be able to recognize the difference between a telling sentence, question, and exclamation.
A weekly handout will be provided in the classroom page. Students can print it and bring to class.
