It was sure to be the class trip of a lifetime!…Or so you thought.  When things take a turn for the worst, you and your classmates suddenly land in a maze of weaving tree roots and mysterious surroundings.  You've found yourself in the middle of the jungle!  You’ll encounter dangerous animals, impossible pathways, and ancient writings.  The only way to escape is to overcome each challenge you encounter with problem solving and creativity.

This is a fun and exciting class filled with activities to really get your child thinking!  As a class, students will be led through 5 different challenges:

Cracking a number code
Memory Test
Building a shelter
Crossword puzzle
Deciphering Morse Code

Students will work individually (with the use of an interactive platform called Nearpod), but as a class escape together.  Many of the challenges are timed, and there is some aspect of friendly competition.  Students will need to follow instructions, be able to use a mouse or touch screen, type and be ready for a fun adventure!  

Important:
In this class we use an additional website called Nearpod.  This tool allows for a high level of engagement between all members of the class and subject matter.  Your child is going to love it!  5 minutes before class, I'll simply paste the link to the Nearpod classroom in the zoom waiting room chat.  Copy and paste the link into a new browser and the lesson will open in Nearpod.  You can also go to www.nearpod.com and enter the classroom code.  I will provide this option as well.  You will want to have zoom open in one window and Nearpod open in another window.  I recommend using a laptop, chrome book or other device where you can have 2 browsers open (or a second device!).  If a student is only using a phone, it will be difficult to see zoom and Nearpod at the same time.  If you have questions about Nearpod please contact me prior to class and I can help.  If it's your child's first time using Nearpod, please assist them with set up!
