During this course, we will discover the external anatomy, skeletal anatomy, colors, markings, breeds, identifying a healthy and sick horse, and being introduced to the world of horse judging. During class, I use slideshows including photos, videos and real life examples for students to better understand the topics at hand. Hand-outs will be provided throughout the course. These include coloring sheets, drawing sections, diagrams and labeling. This class is set up in a lecture and discussion based format. Students are welcomed to share experiences, ask questions and interact throughout each class. This class is a great way for kids to become involved in the world of horses and is a stepping stone to learning about horse ownership, care and possible careers in the equine industry.
