I will assess continually in a variety of ways this could be: Observational assessment: I observe your learner's participation, engagement, and understanding during the lesson as I would in school. I provide notes at the end of the lesson to let you know how your learner got on in the lesson. Written assignments: There is the option to complete short burst written assignments that demonstrate your learner's understanding of the material. These could include essays, short answer questions, or creative writing exercises. Verbal assessments: I also will engage in one-on-one discussions with the learner to assess their understanding of the material. This could include asking questions, seeking clarification, and gauging the learner's ability to articulate their thoughts and ideas. Quizzes and tests: There are times when I will administer quizzes or tests to assess the learner's retention of the material. These could be in the form of multiple choice, true/false, or short answer questions. Performance-based assessments: when it is appropriate, I will assess the learner's skills and abilities through performance-based assessments. For example, the learner could be asked to read aloud or give a presentation, and the teacher could evaluate their ability to speak clearly, use appropriate vocabulary and grammar, and engage with the audience. This is all very informal and more to help my planning and to keep you up to date with achievements and next goals.

I believe good quality private tuition is a realistic goal. It is very important that learners connect with their teacher and that they are challenged and encouraged to work towards their potential. My role as a private tutor is to spend time exploring areas of learning, supplementing existing knowledge, and delivering activities that help children grow in confidence. These skills can be applied to school work and real-life situations. I am here to build upon areas of strength and home in on areas of challenge until learners feel confident.

Depending on your expectation and requirements, I can deliver a range of areas of learning, such as:

* Speaking
* Vocabulary
* Reading
* Writing - from sentence work to writing fiction and non-fiction pieces.
* Grammar
* Comprehension skills
* Story writing

Tuition is a great option and can be very helpful if:

* A class teacher has raised an area of improvement that your child needs to work towards.
* Your child would like more practice/extra help or extension work.
* There are gaps in knowledge and topics.
* Your child would like to spend more time on a specific area.

My expectations:
It is exceptionally important that your learner is getting the best possible experience during the lesson.

Learners need to:

* Have a quiet space to work and to hear the delivery of the lesson.
* Be able to communicate clearly via their chosen device without distraction and can concentrate on the lesson taking place.
* Have access to the Outschool classroom and have a responsible adult or are enabled to be able to find homework assignments.
* Arrive promptly for the lesson.
* Complete homework if requested by a parent/guardian.
* Be aware that there will be mutual respect and politeness between tutor and teacher.

Parents/Guardians need to:

* Ensure that if homework is requested (which I am more than happy to do so), it is completed by the learner.
* Communicate any areas of work that the learner would like to focus on at least 24 hours beforehand so that I can prepare a focused lesson in this area.
* Check messages and classroom posts regularly to see student progress. The Outschool classroom is a great place to follow a running record of achievement of your wonderful learner!

Your child will receive an individualized lesson. I am an experienced teacher with U.K., U.S., and international school experience.

Note: If a learner is more than 10 minutes late, it will be considered a missed class as per Outschool policy and the class is not eligible for a refund. If your leaner needs to cancel class, I can reschedule for a make-up meeting.

If the cancellation is more than 24 hours in advance, I can also issue a refund. In general, students are allowed to cancel / reschedule 1 lesson every 8 weeks (with 24 hours notice). Exceptions may be made in an emergency. If I, as your learner's teacher has a scheduling conflict, I will either contact you to reschedule for a different time or if a time doesn't work for you, issue a refund. I respect your time and the learner's scheduled time either side and this helps lessons to run smoothly.

My teaching style:

I am patient, resourceful, creative, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I have a good sense of humor and am passionate about learners making progress. I am very good at what I do.

I am looking forward to meeting your child and helping your child reach their goals.
Feel free to send a message if you have any questions.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Kaye, and I am delighted to meet you. I am an experienced primary school teacher who started my career in London, where I taught for many years. I then went on to teach in North Africa and the Middle East for over a decade, which was an incredibly enriching experience. During my teaching career, I have taken my classes on some amazing school trips, from the Tower of London to the Pyramids of Giza!

I am a UK SATs specialist with many years of successful teaching experience in Year 6 and Year 2 SATs. I have also worked with borough initiatives to help children achieve their full potential and prepare for future academic success. I am passionate about teaching and helping students develop confidence in maths, English, and science. My goal is to make all areas of the curriculum accessible and enjoyable for children, regardless of their level or language background.

After each lesson, I will provide feedback on your child's participation, so you can see their progress and achievements. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or concerns. In my spare time, I enjoy digital illustration and creating educational resources and stickers for companies. I currently live in the United States and am excited to meet you and your child."
