Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. 11 - 12
In this self-paced class, we will read and examine three of Jane Austen's most popular novels: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma. Students will read, analyze, and answer reading questions for each novel; compare and contrast the novels to their film adaptations; compare and contrast the novel or film adaption to a modern film adaptation; watch videos from Jane Austen experts explaining various elements about the novels or Jane Austen's writing; complete tests on each novel; and complete a final project per novel: an essay, an oral slideshow presentation, and a short story/short script. Throughout the class we will ask ourselves the question: Why does Jane Austen and her stories continue to resonate with new readers and movie watchers 200 years after they were written?

This class has been designed and can be used as a high school/secondary school English/ELA/Language Arts/Literature core or elective course for upper classmen.

There are NO live meetings for this course. Multiple posts will be made to the classroom each week: video lessons on the text and literature and film concepts, reading questions on the novels, homework post with each lesson related to the topic, and final projects and tests at the end of each unit.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn how to reflect on what they have read and answer questions.
Students will learn about MLA format in essays and how to create a Works Cited page.
