𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝟮 - 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹:  This is an early/intermediate level English course that covers a variety of literature. Students in 9th-12th grade have successfully completed this course, as each student's level of proficiency is different.

𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝟮 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭:
This class will touch upon various popular pieces of literature. Information will build as we proceed, and the course will continue with a second semester. During the first semester, this course will reinforce critical analysis of text, synthesize ideas, understand and utilize rhetorical appeals, reinforce literary devices, determine how time periods influence writers, complete active reading, use creative thinking and writing, develop supportive arguments, write short in-class responses, write analytical style essays, and reinforce conventions of grammar and language usage. Classroom interaction and engagement will be encouraged. Students will have the opportunity to respond verbally, as well as through interaction on Nearpod slides. Students may send responses through the classroom chat; however, it is preferable for cameras to be on during class (unless otherwise arranged). Homework times will vary.
