Experiencia de clase

In this ongoing class, we will learn about a different endangered or threatened animal every week. The learners will be given a note-taking guideline and will take notes during class. After learning about the animal we will then practice writing a paragraph based on the notes they have taken. In this fabulous learning combination, they will learn so much about animals and gain practice taking notes and writing paragraphs.

I also offer this class for a younger group of age 6-8, or if your learner needs to go a little slower to practice writing.

Orientación para padres
In this class we discuss the reason animals are endangered which is almost always the result of human habits and activities on the planet. This can evoke strong emotions for some children (it's ok... it does for me too). Depending on the animal of the week we do occasionally discuss adaptations and evolution of animal species. All information in this class is science-based. We regularly discuss the need for animals to be able to find each other in nature for breeding purposes. I do not go into any details about how animals breed. I do discuss that they need to find each other, the impacts on populations when they can't, and the various reasons that cause them to not find each other.
