Is your teen interested in understanding the complexities of their community? Do they want to explore how economic shifts impact neighborhoods and the people who live there? This self-paced online 4-week course, "Navigating Change: Gentrification and Our Communities," dives deep into the topic of gentrification, empowering teens (ages 14-18) to become informed citizens who can advocate for positive change. Here's what your teen will gain: Teens will learn the key aspects of gentrification, its causes and effects, and its impact on different communities through pre-recorded videos from the teacher, speaker videos, prompts, assignments, and a final project by each learner. Topics covered: -What is Gentrification? -The Human Impact of Gentrification -Safeguarding Communities Homework is optional and can be submitted for feedback upon request. The final is required if you would like a completion certificate, but multiple format options are offered.
