What will be taught?

In this lesson, learners will explore a variety of exam/quiz-type questions designed to prepare and support year 6 students in answering exam questions with increasing confidence.

What topics will I cover?

The class will cover areas of maths typically found in exams for 10-12-year-olds.

How is the class structured?

This is a group lesson where we will go through a different cluster of exam questions each week, break down the questions, and give learners the chance to try them. They can collaborate, ask questions for clarification, and interact during the session.

What is my teaching style?

I am patient and engaging, bringing extensive experience as a primary school/elementary school teacher and specializing in UK SATs and the Eleven Plus (I have another class for SATs preparation) with a proven track record of excellence in results.

Additionally, there will be optional tasks, papers, and videos assigned outside of lesson time.

If your learner is in year 5/grade 4, early preparation will also benefit them. Feel free to ask any questions related to the topic.

During the lesson, I focus on using past exam papers as the foundation for learning. Each week, I assign students a past paper for homework, and in the following session, we review it together. I begin by prompting students with questions to help them recall what they've learned, fostering active engagement. If they struggle with certain concepts or need reinforcement, I shall guide them with explanations and exercises.


Additionally, I accommodate specific requests from clients by addressing particular problem areas or analyzing specific texts.
