Grado de EE. UU. Kindergarten - 3
This class is designed for us to explore our inner Scientists. We will explore becoming a Scientist through experiments and projects, which will help us learn more about Science. This class will allow your learner to have fun through fun experiments, science assignments, and classroom discussions.

This class gives your Scientist complete control of when and where they would like to complete the modules. We will not meet for any live sections (unless it is requested or if I feel that it is necessary). All interaction will be done through the Outschool platform and classroom section.

In this class, we will learn how to perform Science experiments safely, discuss with our peers, and learn scientific terminologies.

Every Monday before noon EST, a video will be uploaded into the class to walk students through the experiments. The videos show me conducting and performing each experiment; it will be step by step. Along with each video upload, you will receive several worksheets. Questions (forums) will be posted throughout the week; students are expected to respond to these forums. Students are encouraged to respond to one another through the forums and the weekly question/topic. We will have open discussions in the classroom on the Outschool platform. Responding to questions within the classroom will allow students to interact with other Scientists in training. Students can upload a response video each week; this is not required. However, this will help students become more comfortable with each other. When a student uploads a video, everyone is expected to watch the video and respond to it. Each week I will also send out a supply list. Please note that I will respond to everyone’s statement/questions through the classroom or in a video. If scientists do decide to respond through a video, that it’s perfectly fine. I encourage everyone to have an open discussion with our fellow learners and myself.

To ensure that everyone is engaging with one another, we will play a Kahoot game at the end of each week. All of our Kahoot games will be a review of our weekly materials. (Parents and scientists will have access to Kahoot once enrolled in the class).
Here is a list of supplies needed for this class (but not limited):

Paper towels
Food Dye
Shaving Cream
Salt
Water
Gummie Bears
Coins
2 Eggs
Ice
Cotton balls
Oranges

Here’s a breakdown of our class (weeks are broken into modules):
Week 1/Module 1: Rain Cloud In a Jar
*We will create a rain cloud in a jar. We will learn how rain clouds are formed and it affects our atmosphere.

In this lesson, we will discover our atmosphere and weather development.

Week 2/Module 2: Gummie Growth
      * We will watch gummies bears shrink and grow in different variations of water. We will be able to draw a hypothesis before.

This lesson will teach us how things transform in size and color.

Week 3/Module 3: Penny/Coin Cleaner
       * What are some ways that we can clean coins without using chemicals?

In this lesson, we will learn how to clean a quarter and a penny using basic household things like ketchup, salt, water, vinegar, and juice. We will also look at the chemicals that cause our coins to become clean.

Week 4/Module 4: Egg Float
        * In this lesson, we will learn why and how an egg can float. We will use distilled water, tap water, and salt water to perform this experiment.

Week 5/Module 5: Fruits and Salt
         * We will see what happens to fruits when you leave them in salt and salt water. We will form a hypothesis to determine what will grow on the fruits.

In this lesson, we will clean how crystals form. We will also look at how crystals affect the freshness of our fruits. We will be able to watch closely as it forms on our fruits.

Week 6/Module 6: Salt On Ice
          * We will form a hypothesis about salt on ice. Students will be able to experiment and find out what truly happens when salt touches ice or snow.

In this lesson, we will explain why salt causes ice to melt and dries it out.

Scientists are sure to have fun experimenting and having fun.
