Students will be graded on their weekly assignments and a final test. They will also receive participation points for engage in in at least half of the weekly discussion questions. The homework accounts for roughly 78% of their grade, the final test accounts for roughly 14%, and the participation for 7%.Calificación

In this 12 week semester course, students will learn 51 key economic concepts recommended by the Council of Economic Education for High School classes. The class will consist of a lecture and google slide presentation. The presentation will contain videos and discussion questions that students will be expected to participate in. Each week students will have a homework assignment, which will reflect upon the concepts discussed in class. There will also be a final quiz that is due after the final live class. Homework will be assigned due dates. If you are interested in a class that does not have due dates, then check out my flexible schedule economics class. *Additional reading material can be distributed each week upon request* Week 1: Fundamental Economics Decision Making and Cost-Benefit Analysis, Incentives, Economic Institutions, Economic Systems, Human Capital, Opportunity Cost, Productive Resources & Scarcity Week 2: Fundamental Economics Money, Productivity, Property Rights, Technology, Division of Labor and Specialization, Trade, & Exchange and Interdependence Week 3: Microeconomics Demand, Elasticity of Demand, Supply, Profit, Markets and Prices, Price Ceilings and Floors, & Roles of Government Week 4: Microeconomics Consumers, Producers, Competition and Market Structures, & Income Distribution Week 5: Microeconomics Market Structures: Perfect Competition, Monopoly, and Oligopoly Week 6: Microeconomics Monopolistic Competition, Government Failures/Public-Choice Analysis, Market Failures, & Entrepreneurs Week 7: Macroeconomics The Federal Reserve & Budget Deficits and Public Debt Week 8: Macroeconomics GDP, Real vs. Nominal, Inflation, Business Cycles, Economic Growth, & Aggregate Demand Week 9: Macroeconomics Aggregate Supply, Employment and Unemployment, Fiscal Policy, & Monetary Policy Week 10: International Economics Markets/Exchange Rates, Balance of Trade and Balance of Payments, Barriers to Trade, Benefits of Trade/Comparative Advantage, Economic Development, & Foreign Currency Week 11: The U.S. Tax System Income, Corporate, payroll, capital gains, sales, property, tangible personal property, estate, and inheritance taxes Week 12: Personal Finance Compound Interest, Credit, Financial Markets, Insurance, Money Management/Budgeting, Risk and Return, & Saving and Investing **Note this class requires at least 3 students in order to begin. If there are less than 3 students enrolled, I reserve the right to cancel the class and issue a refund.

At the end of this course, learners will have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of economics. These fundamentals include the 51 key concepts recommended by the Council of Economic Education for High School Classes.
