I am a certified social studies teacher with over a decade of experience working with learners.  I am certified in Missouri and Indiana to teach grades 5-12 social science/social studies subjects, including: American History, Geography, Government/Civics, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, and World History. 
I focus on individualizing lessons to meet the needs of learners, including those who are struggling and/or students who need more challenge.  I have a BA in Political Science, a MA in Secondary Education, and an Ed Spec degree in Educational Technology.  I use technologies in effective and creative ways to enhance the learning process and increase motivation of learners.

Detalles: As mentioned in the class description, several asynchronous (outside of class) learning opportunities will be suggested to help with review, gaining depth-of-knowledge, or for additional challenge.  No learner should feel stressed about any aspect of this class, and I would never expect a learner to feel like they need to complete all of the suggested activities.

Detalles: Multiple assessment opportunities will be involved, including formative and more structured options. I will provide positive and supportive feedback, opportunities for improvement, and allow "notes" to be used. Any learner requesting a grade for the class should communicate this expectation as soon as possible.

Detalles: If a learner would like a grade report for the class, I request that they complete the assessments offered. Two assessments are included and each allow for a reflective or challenge option. Corrections are allowed and formative assessment criteria is included when creating the grade report. A learner can achieve any grade they want.

Differentiation included, to support struggling learners and to provide challenge for learners who need/want extra depth. Please refer to the class description for more detail.
