Nivel Beginner
During our time together, students will be learning something new and then taking that learning and applying it to a fun cooking lesson in this summer camp style class! These recipes are super easy, allergen friendly, and require minimal prep and support from grown ups! The agenda will go something like this: 5 Minutes: Introduction and Objectives 10 Minutes: Mini Lesson tying into our cooking theme. These lessons might include singing, math, social studies or science presentations. 15 Minutes: Cooking lesson! Students will follow the model, but then have creative freedom to create their own treats! I love hands on learning and lessons that are project based. I move slowly with the students to check for understanding. I am also a very flexible teacher so if your student wants to apply a little more creativity that's no problem! The goal of cooking is really just to have fun! I am a special education teacher so I welcome ALL learners! Whether your students is neurodiverse, non-speaking, or developmentally delayed I am happy to accommodate them! This class will occur weekly with a different treat each week. Please see below for more details on each treat! Week 1-Nutella Reindeer Toast Learners will be studying these magnificent creatures while making a yummy snack! Week 2-Eggnog Pudding Parfaits Put a fun and easy spin on a holiday classic! We will be learning about holidays around the world in this week's lesson! Week 3-New Years Punch! Let's work on some resolutions while toasting the New Year! Week 4- Snowman Winter Pies Adorable fun treats for all while learning all about where snow comes from. Week 5- Polar Bear Donuts Learn more about these cold weather loving creatures as we make a fun snack.

This class is open to EVERYONE! Please let me know if you child has any allergy concerns and we will work together to adapt any of the ingredients. Any other limitations please reach out!
Orientación para padres
This class will not require the use of ovens or knives. We will occasionally cut up things like fruit and veggies, but you are welcome to pre-cut your food for your younger children.
Additionally any allergens can also be adapted to the needs of your learner. I have provided some examples in the class supply list description.
I pride myself on creating lessons that are safe and inclusive for ALL learners. If you have any additional safety concerns please reach out!

Students should feel comfortable with basic kitchen tools including knives for cutting fruits and veggies, hand mixer, microwaves (or have an adult close by the support them).
