In this one-time class, learners will discover how to run a Dungeons and Dragons 5e game as the dungeon or game master (also referred to as the DM or GM). The DM's job is to host a fantastical game within the player's mind using maps, character tokens, and of course, phenomenal storytelling and description. They take the lead as the one who weaves all the characters together into one big web, all while ensuring that their players are having a good time. This class is a follow-up to my How to Dungeon Master and Basics for New DMs class (recommended you take first if you are not familiar with the basics). We will cover more advanced dungeon master topics such as: -Making your combats flow -Setting up challenging encounters but not causing a TPK -Short and long rests -Consumable items and shops -Creating maps, planning and laying out the session -Descriptive language, storytelling and setting the scene for the player's (the theater of the mind) -Improving your improv skills -Running a session 0 (the pre-game before the game!) -Meta-gaming and how to prevent it -Note taking and how to keep building your world This is a very conversational style class, so some topics may be expanded upon depending on how interested the learners are in discussing. During this class, the learners will also be encouraged to ask questions that they've particularly been wondering about in order to start their journey as the dungeon master. As we cover these topics, we'll be taking a look at an engaging presentation, but also diving into my real-life experience as I display my own virtual campaigns. I'll be showing how I organize my notes, how I engage my players, and a little bit of how to run on a virtual table top. Let's roll for initiative and start adventuring!

Orientación para padres
Please be aware: table-top RPGs are full of surprises and improvisation. They may be rated PG due to fantasy violence, magic, scary themes. I will be keeping the game as family friendly as possible but there will be fantastic battles and possible character injuries.
