In this ongoing class, students have a consistent dedicated time to read. They model the joy of reading for each other. The sessions begin with an opportunity for members to share what book they brought to read. Then they get thirty minutes to read quietly to themselves in a setting where others are doing the same activity. The teacher Kayla Stierwalt will be present for students to ask questions regarding vocabulary, context questions and more. At the end of the reading time, the teacher asks students to share what they liked or didn't like about the book they read. 
Students are encouraged to log what they read and what they thought about it, and the teacher can assist with writing helpful information about the books. They also can list books other students recommend that they'd like to read, thus curating their own to-read list.
